A PVC double membrane biogas dome can be installed on new or refurbished steel and concrete tanks.
The membrane biogas dome consists of 2no separate pvc membranes; an outer air membrane and an internal gas membrane. The area between the inner and outer membranes is continually pressurised with air using air blowers. The air inflates the outer membrane providing structural rigidity and an adjustable system pressure.
The membrane gas dome is fast to manufacture and install. It is easy to maintain, only requiring occasional visual inspections. The port holes or viewing windows in the outer membrane allow easy viewing of the inner membrane.
A level sensor is incorporated into the membrane gas holder to provide an indication of available gas volume and can be used to control other parts of plant.
CH4 detection can be supplied to monitor for leakage of biogas into the air chamber.
A stainless steel post is installed at the centre of the digester to support a netting system which prevents the inner membrane from making contact with the digestate when fully deflated.
Both air and gas membranes are sealed to the top of the tanks using galvanised or stainless steel clamp plates and fixings.
